Activities for Children and Youth

The Christian Life Center (CLC) is a place for all ages with a wide range of activities.  Listed below are just some of the ways your children/youth can become involved in Christ United Methodist Church (CUMC) Sports.  Daily use of the facility requires membership, but all of our programs are open to the community.  Click HERE to learn how to become a member.

Boot Camp for kids!

This is a new program led by Pascal Gaulon.  Pascal has coached collectively for 10 years in both basketball and baseball. He currently coaches Upward and also High School basketball. He was a personal trainer at Express Fitness in Plano where he customized fitness programs for all ages. He believes that a well fit person has balance in nutrition, cardio and in controlled weight-training. He has much passion for fitness and loves working with children.

Join Pascal on Saturdays at 9am.  Click here to register.  The cost is $25 for 4 weeks.  Fun for the whole family or just bring your kids ages 5-12!

‘No Practice’ Basketball League

Beginning on Thursday, March 22nd This will be a LOW KEY 'league' for children ages 1st - 6th grade. There is no cost and we will rely on volunteers to run the scrimmages with the same principles as Upward! We will start with 1st - 4th grade playing from 6 - 6:45pm and 5th-6th graders playing from 6:45-7:30pm. We will adjust as needed.

The TOT Program!

The TOT Program is where athletics and academics meet! It is a creative basketball ball-handling, academic, and motor development program for preschool kids. It is a 45-minute class that is filled with fun and educational activities!

It is conveniently held right here at the church. A TOT teacher will come to the CDC and escort your child over to the CLC gym for the class.

We will have the opportunity to show-off our awesome skills at various performance opportunities throughout the year. We are invited to perform with the Harlem Globetrotters team at the American Airlines Center in January, and we will also perform at a local high school basketball game. We will finish the year with a “Shine-Time Performance”, where the kids will get their hard-earned trophy!

We will be offering classes on Mondays and Tuesdays at 2pm.

The class will be held at the Christian Life Center on Wednesdays from 2 to 2:45pm.

Enrollment is limited to 25 children

Run for Christ!   We will start this back up in the summer.

Bring your kids to the CLC and "Run for Christ".  Keep your children active and promote exercise by participating in this simple run/reward program.  Kids ages 4 and up can run laps (or walk or wheelchair - just get them moving!) on the track...for every 5 laps completed, they'll get to pick a prize out of our 'Treasure Chest'!  Children will get to keep track of their laps on a coloring sheet.....it's easy, fun and you can come do this any time the CLC is open!
