Have you heard of individuals who have participated in a “Walk to Emmaus,” and wondered what it was? The Walk to Emmaus program is an international program to promote Christian living, with an emphasis on serving. The program begins with a three day retreat, offered for men and women separately, several times each year.
Following the successful retreat, participants are encouraged to continue to live a life filled with grace, and participants are encouraged to help others live that life as well.
The Dallas Emmaus Community manages the nondenominational retreats, with the sponsorship and organization of many talented and committed alumni. Several walks are scheduled for 2017:
4/20-23/17 (Men’s Walk)
6/15-18/17 (Women’s Walk)
CUMC has a large and active alumni group that meets periodically after the initial retreat to schedule service times, gather in fellowship (food!), and keep each other accountable in small groups.
