One way we grow in our faith is to share in meaningful discussions with others. John Wesley included bible study as one means of grace that draws us closer to God – individually, and communally. And one way to study the bible is to apply the Word to our lives.
Many of us do this by reading books and applying lessons from the books to our guidance from the Bible. That’s where this new online book discussion helps us.
Through the well-known app “Goodreads,” Cathy Sweeney has created a book discussion group to discuss selected books from a Christian perspective. Here’s how to get started:
- If you already have a Goodreads account, select “Community,” “Groups,” and search for “Sweeney’s on the Creek.” This is Cathy Sweeney’s book discussion group. Ask to be invited to the group, and Cathy will approve it.
- If you do not have a Goodreads account yet, go to www.goodreads.com and create an account. Then follow instructions in step 1.
The group is currently reading Coffee, Tea, and Holy Water: One Woman’s Journey to Experience Christianity Around the Globe. Discussion questions are posted weekly, and participants are encouraged to post replies throughout the week.
If you have questions about the new group, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org. She’ll be happy to talk with you about this!
