Graphic Design Coordinator (Part-time)

The Graphic Design Coordinator is responsible for weekly print and digital communication needs including our Weekly Snapshot, Faith in :50, and in-house printing. The Graphic Design Coordinator must be able to work under tight deadlines within an existing design/brand framework. He or she also needs to be creative, proactive, flexible and a team player.

This is a part-time, hourly position (approximately 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday)

Job Functions:

  • Work with Graphic Design Manager and Director of Communications to design and produce high-quality graphics for both internal and external use across multiple outlets, both print and digital
  • Oversee the in-house printing and finishing of promotional items such as posters, postcards, flyers, table tents, etc
  • Manage inventory of marketing materials throughout the church
  • Work with Media Director to provide graphics for any videos
  • Create, schedule and track the results of weekly emails through Constant Contact
  • Update news and event postings on WordPress/Wix websites
  • Work special events as required including some night and weekend special events
  • Perform additional duties as required by Christ United Methodist Church


  • Bachelor’s degree (graphic design, communications, or related field preferred)
  • At least 1 year of work experience that demonstrates proficiency in graphic design
  • Thoughtfulness, intelligence, and diligence
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including proofreading. Light copy-editing capabilities preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a variety of personalities
  • Ability to accept and adapt to constructive criticism
  • Ability to be flexible, manage stress, multitask and work well under pressure
  • Experience or interest in motion graphics and film production is a plus
  • A portfolio is required at the time of application. Preference will be given to portfolios that demonstrate/include exceptional design and production of print publications (e.g., ads and brochures), a solid understanding of design components (typography, color, grid, imagery, etc.) layout, clean, consistent, innovative design throughout publications

Software Experience Requirements:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  • Expert proficiency on the Mac platform
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Creative illustration skills a plus
  • Experience in WordPress a plus
