Poverty

Please read more about these specific Christ United missions that are aimed at helping those in our community living in poverty.

The Alternative Christmas catalog provides wonderful gift options that take the place of traditional Christmas gifts. These meaningful gifts are in the form of a donation that will help transform lives. Give a gift of hope in honor of a friend, family member, teacher, co-worker or anyone else on your list. You will receive a Christmas ornament to give or to keep in remembrance of your gift. Each gift is tax-deductible. Each year we choose meaningful and transformation programs to include in the Alternative Christmas Catalog. What a great alternative to candy or a tie! The Alternative Christmas Program goes on every year in December.

Christ United Methodist Church has partnered with the Salvation Army Angel Tree program for over 15 years. The Angel program provides a way to give gifts to economically disadvantaged children and special-care recipients who might not otherwise receive a Christmas present at all. Among religious organizations, Christ United has been the largest contributor to the Angel Tree Program in Collin County.

For more information on these programs, you can contact Jana Grimone.
