Please join us here at Christ United Methodist Church as we celebrate this Easter season with the following services and activities for you and the whole family!

Maundy Thursday Worship Service

Communion Service, April 1st, 7:00 p.m.
Maundy Thursday is the traditional name for the Thursday preceding Easter. The word “maundy” comes from the Latin phrase “mandatum novum” or the new commandment that Jesus gave to his disciples, “To Love One Another As I Have Loved You". The institution of the Lord’s Supper as part of the Maundy Thursday ritual began in the 4th century A.D. and continues in most churches today. Our service will include special music by the Sanctuary Choir, Holy Communion, Homily by Rev. Stacey Piyakhun, and the symbolic draping of the cross at the end of the service.

Good Friday Worship Service

April 2nd, 12:00 noon
A solemn and quiet service with time for personal reflection as the story of the crucifixion is read from the scriptures. The service concludes with the unaccompanied singing of "Were You There?" by the congregation.

Easter Sunday Worship Services

Sunday, April 4th
Full Court contemporary service will be held at 11:00 a.m. in the Christian Life Center (the CLC).
Traditional worship services will be held at 8, 9, 10 and 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary.
And for a truly unique Easter service, please join us at 6:30 a.m. in the Children's Prayer Garden for our memorable Sunrise service.

Wednesday Night Lent Worship Services

6:30 p.m. in room N255m through March 31st

On February 17, we entered the season of Lent. It is a special time for self-reflection, fasting, renewal and prayer where we set aside our wants and listen for the voice of God. Lent represents the 40-day period when Jesus went into the wilderness and fasted to contemplate, reflect upon and prepare for His ministry. We use these 40 days as a time of introspection, repentance and preparation for Easter. In observance of Lent, midweek worship services will begin on Ash Wednesday, and continue through March 31st.

In preparation for Lent, CUMC children were asked to draw their interpretations of "Lift High the Cross". Each week, one child's vision of Lent will be featured on the cover of the Wednesday Lent Worship Guide with his or her name listed on the back of the program. A short bio will also be included in the Snapshot on the day the child's art is featured during the Lent service. Children will also be participating in the services with Rev. Stacey Piyakhun. Communion will be served each week.

We would love to have you join us as we journey through the Lenten season together and lift high the cross. We encourage you to attend these Wednesday evening Lent services as a family. You won't want to miss this special worship series.
