Christ United Methodist Church Princeton
Have you ever stood on the edge of something so big that you couldn’t really comprehend it? Forty years ago, the first members of Christ United Methodist Church met in in a school cafeteria for worship. They faithfully set up and took down chairs each Sunday morning for worship. Week after week, volunteers carried boxes of toys and crafts from their cars to create a nursery and Sunday school for children. They had no clue that their church would someday grow to have 5,000 members. They couldn’t comprehend that members of CUMC would travel all around the world on mission projects or build ten houses for families in Plano. The early members of CUMC, working hard to spread the word about their new church, simply knew that they were following the call of God in their lives. The Holy Spirit which empowered the first members of Christ United Methodist Church is continuing to inspire and has guided the congregation to start a new church in Princeton.
With that foundation, CUMC Princeton began. Now we are worshiping in our own space, growing the Kingdom of God and making disciples of Jesus Christ to transform the world through the continued work of mission, service and witness.

The Rev. Cathy Partridge
The Rev. Cathy Partridge comes to CUMC Princeton from First Frisco UMC. Cathy joined the staff of First Frisco UMC as Associate Pastor in October 2009 and became the Executive Associate Pastor in July 2014. She has a passion for people and for ministries that impact the way people live, learn and love; these include programs such as Stephen Ministry, DivorceCare and Financial Peace University and serving in the Dallas Emmaus/Chrysalis communities. While at First Frisco, Cathy worked with the members in starting ministries which bring relief, help, and hope to survivors of severe storms through an UMCOR Early Response Team and to survivors of family violence.
Cathy is a Texas native and grew up in Royse City, just east of Rockwall and graduated from high school there. Like a few others, her college career is long and scattered having attended courses at Texas A&M Commerce, Whatcom Community College and Liberty University. Cathy completed the Course of Study classes at Perkins School of Theology in July 2014. Though she isn’t carrying a load of text books around anymore, she continues to enjoy learning and growing both mentally and spiritually, and will continue to be busy loving and caring for the people through teaching, preaching, missions, and ministries.
Prior to answering God’s call to ministry, Cathy worked in the legal field for over 30 years in areas of research, training, human resources and office management. Cathy and her husband Brad have two sons, Mitch Murray and Lance Partridge, and one most precious grandson, Isaac. Cathy and Brad are both very active people, and especially enjoy spending their time with friends and family. They both enjoy riding bikes, golfing, and just about anything else that keeps them on the move.
