  • Frequently Asked Questions:
    • This is my first tournament and I am not sure which division I should register to play?
      • If this is your first tournament please take the time to read the USAPA player rating definitions at https://usapickleball.org/tournaments/tournament-player-ratings/player-skill-rating-definitions/.
      • Once you have read the definitions choose the division you think is appropriate.
      • Please understand that a “Beginner Tournament Level” player is different than a “Beginner Brand New To The Game” player. A “Beginner Tournament Level” player could be a 3.0 rated player while a “Beginner Brand New To The Game” player would be a 1.0-2.0 rated player.
    • What does Fixed Partners mean?
      • Fixed Partners mean that you and your partner will stay together for the duration of the tournament.
    • Where do I sign up if I am an advanced player between 4.0-5.0?
      • Due to our facility only having the ability to accommodate a specific number of games in a day this tournament is not intended for advanced players with ratings between 4.0-5.0. We plan to have another tournament later this year for advanced 4.0-5.0 players.
    • Where do I sign up if I am a 4.0 player, but my partner is a 3.0 player?
      • You must register in the division of the better rated player so you would register in the Intermediate (3.5-4.0) division.
    • Where do I sign up if I am 53 years old, but my partner is 47 years old?
      • You must register in the division of the younger player so you would register in the Under 50 division.
    • Can my team play down in age if we are both over the age of 50?
      • Yes, if both of your players are over the age of 50 you can play down in age and register in the Under 50 division.
    • Can my team play up in age if we are both 49 years old?
      • No, your team must register in the Under 50 division.
    • Where do I sign up if I am still learning the rules and I don’t know how to keep score?
      • Tournaments are not designed to teach the rules of pickleball and/or teach players how to keep score. If you are still learning all the rules and/or still learning how to keep score we have “Beginner New To The Game” Group Style Lessons every Thursday morning from 9:00am-11:00am. Please join us to learn all the rules, learn how to keep score, and get ready to play in the next tournament.

If you have any further questions please email Josh Beasley at josh@cumc.com.

We hope to see you Saturday, March 2!
