Join us for a church-wide full day of service! We invite you to serve with us as we go into the city to clean up our communities, serve our senior neighbors, sandwich packing, and serve with our Christ United Neighbors in our local communities.
PROJECT DESCRIPTIONS
City of Plano-Windhaven Meadows Park
We are partnering with the City of Plano to clean up trash at Windhaven Meadows Park. This is a great serving opportunity for families with kids of any age; Do something good for the community then play at the awesome park afterwards! Don’t forget to pick up a trash grabber at registration. The park is located at 5400 Windhaven Pkwy Plano, 75093

God’s Pantry
God’s Pantry believes in extending a helping hand by providing food to anyone facing circumstances beyond their control. Their pantry serves all people with respect and compassion. We will be helping to sort fresh/canned food and load cars. Children 5+ are welcome, but must be supervised!

Hope’s Door
Hope’s Door offers intervention and prevention solutions to individuals and families affected by intimate partner and family violence and to provide education programs that enhance the community’s capacity to respond. We will be working in the Hope’s Door resale boutique organizing, pricing, unloading and stocking items in the store. Children 16 and up with an adult only, please.

The second component of this project is working at one of the shelters. This will include organizing and cleaning an annex building in the backyard. Adults only, please. Shelter volunteers will receive the shelter address from the team lead.

Hope Restored
Hope Restored Missions exists to restore hope to those oppressed by the circumstances and tragedies of their lives. They focus on the homeless and those facing housing insecurities. We will be cleaning and organizing 3 storage units to help them better serve their clients. Children are welcome, but please supervise. No waiver required.

Love your neighbor kits
We will be assembling “Love Your Neighbor” kits for our homeless neighbors. The food packs will include items such as peanut butter crackers, protein pouches of tuna or chicken, granola bars, pretzels, bottled water, etc. The hygiene kits will include items such as soap, shampoo, tissues, baby wipes, toothbrush, etc. This will be an on-site activity at the church, but can also be done as a “Serve from home” activity. Children are welcome!

Minnie’s Food Pantry
Minnie’s Food Pantry is dedicated providing healthy food and financial education. Their goal is to provide numerous programs that help families gain long-term food security and to break generational curses of people (especially children) in low-income areas not having access to fresh fruits and vegetables. Children 16+ are welcome!

POWS-Plano Overnight Warming Station
POWS needs help organizing and cleaning cots and bedding used for the overnight warming station. The Salvation Army is located at 3528 14th Street Plano,75074 Children 5+ are welcome, but must be supervised. No waiver required.

Rebuilding Faith project in the Douglass Community
Rebuilding Faith works in the Douglass Community throughout the year and on Serving Day they invite you to join them in light construction, cleanup and handy work! Children 10+ are welcome.

Sandwich Blessings
Sandwich Blessings is a weekly opportunity in partnership with Streetside Showers. Christ United members provide sandwiches to feed the hungry every Saturday at the Assistance Center of Collin County!
Join us on April 22nd to serve food and fellowship with neighbors experiencing homelessness in Plano. We will also pack and provide hygiene kits for the guests. Children are welcome! No waiver required.

Set up, check-in tables and clean-up crew
On April 22nd we will need volunteers at the church to help with set up, work the check-in tables, assist participants in gathering supplies, and cleaning up once everyone heads out to their serving opportunity.
