Sports & Rec Center Open

The Sports & Rec Center re-opened in a limited capacity on Tuesday, May 26.

ALL INDIVIDUALS USING THE FACILITY ARE REQUIRED TO FOLLOW ALL STATE MANDATED SOCIAL DISTANCING AND SANITARY GUIDELINES AT ALL TIMES!

The current hours for the SRC will be:

  • Monday-Thursday 9:00am-7:00pm
  • Friday 9:00am-1:00pm
  • Saturday & Sunday – CLOSED

Beginning Monday, June 8 the hours for the SRC will be:

  • Monday-Thursday 7:00am-4:00pm
  • Friday 7:00am-1:00pm
  • Saturday & Sunday – CLOSED

We are currently in our STAGE 2 re-opening which includes the first floor cardio room, basketball court for small group skills sessions, modified fitness/yoga class schedule, and the walking track.

THE SECOND FLOOR LOFT AND BATHROOMS WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!

THE FREE WEIGHT ROOM WILL OPEN ON MONDAY, JUNE 15!

THE LOCKER ROOMS, SHOWERS, KITCHEN, ROOM S126, AND WATER FOUNTAINS WILL BE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!

Please carefully read the following information below for re-opening details:

  • CHECKING INTO THE FACILITY
    • Individuals in the building are required to follow all state social distance and sanitary guidelines at all times
    • Enter through the south doors of the building
      • The north doors of the building will be locked
    • Masks will be required during while entering and exiting the facility
      • Masks will NOT be required while working out in the cardio room
      • Masks will NOT be required while walking the track
    • We have removed the check in keypads and created a six foot barrier between the welcome desk and members
    • When you enter the facility you will need to tell the employee at the welcome desk your name and we will check you into the facility or class
  • WORKOUTS IN THE CARDIO ROOM
    • Individuals using the cardio room are required to follow all state social distance and sanitary guidelines at all times
    • For questions related to workouts in the cardio room you can email Dereck Owens at dereck@cumc.com
    • Workouts in the cardio room will be need to be reserved by calling the SRC at 972-596-6073
    • There will be a maximum of 2 people allowed in the cardio room at all times
    • Reservations can be made 1 business day in advance
      • Monday reservations can be made on the prior Friday
    • Reservations will be available for same day workouts if times are available
    • Reservations will be available for “walk-ins” if times are available
    • Workout reservations will be limited to 45 minutes per workout
      • Workouts will be available from 9:00am-6:00pm Monday-Thursday
      • Workouts will be available from 9:00am-1:00pm Friday
      • The cardio room will be closed the last 15 minutes of every hour for cleaning
      • The cardio room will be closed from 6:00pm-7:00pm every day for cleaning
  • WALKING TRACK DETAILS
    • Individuals using the walking track are required to follow all state social distance and sanitary guidelines at all times
    • The walking track will open Monday, June 1
    • Walking times will need to be reserved by calling the SRC at 972-596-6073
    • There will be a maximum of 2 people allowed on the walking track at all times
      • Individuals will need to choose an unoccupied lane and stay in that lane at all times while walking
    • Reservations can be made 1 business day in advance
      • Monday reservations can be made on the prior Friday
    • Reservations will be available for same day walking if times are available
    • Reservations will be available for “walk-ins” if times are available
    • Walking reservations will be limited to 45 minutes
      • Walking will be available from 9:00am-7:00pm Monday-Thursday
      • Walking will be available from 9:00am-1:00pm Friday
      • The walking track will be closed the last 15 minutes of every hour for cleaning
    • The upstairs bathroom will be closed but the downstairs bathrooms are open
  • BASKETBALL COURTS RENTALS
    • Individuals using the basketball court are required to follow all state social distance and sanitary guidelines at all times
    • Court reservations will need to be reserved by emailing Josh Beasley at josh@cumc.com
    • The basketball court will be available for small group skills session rentals only
      • Small groups consist of 1 adult coach and 2 to 4 players per halfcourt
    • The SRC will NOT provide any basketballs, equipment, or air pumps
      • Individuals will be required to bring their own basketballs and equipment
    • Court reservations can be made 1 business day in advance
      • We will begin taking reservations for Tuesday, May 26 on Friday, May 22
      • Monday reservations can be made on the prior Friday
    • Court reservations will be available for same day sessions if times are available
    • COURT RESERVATIONS ARE NOT AVAILABLE FOR “WALK-INS”
      • All times must be reserved in advance
    • Court reservations can be made 1 business day in advance
    • Court sessions will be limited to 45 minutes per session
      • The basketball court will be available most hours of the day from 9:00am-7:00pm Monday-Thursday
      • The basketball court will be available most hours of the day from 9:00am-1:00pm Friday
      • The basketball court will be closed the last 15 minutes of every hour for cleaning
  • FITNESS/YOGA CLASS MODIFICATIONS
    • Individuals participating in a class are required to follow all state social distance and sanitary guidelines at all times
    • We will have a condensed fitness/yoga class schedule upon re-opening with plans to slowly add more classes into the rotation
    • Chair Yoga classes and FREE CLASSES will remained suspended for the foreseeable future
    • All classes will take place in the downstairs basketball gym
      • Basketball sessions will NOT be allowed during class times so the only people in the gym will be class members
      • We have taped boxes on the floor with 6-10 feet of separation to show where individuals to place themselves during class
    • The SRC will NOT provide any mats, blocks, bolsters, bands, balls, and all other equipment/accessories/props
      • Individuals will be required to bring their own mat/props/equipment
    • All classes will be 1 hour in length
    • All individuals will be required to leave the facility immediately at the conclusion of their class
  • FITNESS/YOGA CLASS CREDITS
  • FITNESS/YOGA CLASS SCHEDULE 
    • Reservations are NOT required to attend classes
    • The current class schedule and start date is:
      • Tuesday Pilates with Tess from 6:00pm-7:00pm (begins Tuesday, May 26)
      • Wednesday Mixed Level Yoga with Joyce from 6:00pm-7:00pm (begins Wednesday, May 27)
      • Thursday Mixed Level Yoga with Aleda from 2:30pm-3:30pm (begins Thursday, May 28)
      • Tuesday Intermediate Yoga with Tifany from 9:30am-10:30am (begins Tuesday, June 2)
    • Most classes not listed above will resume in person teaching at future dates to be determined
  • SUMMER CAMP DETAILS
    • We are currently gathering information to make a decision on summer camps for 2020
    • We are hopeful that we will be able to offer some summer camps in July and the first week of August
      • We do not plan to offer any summer camps during the month of June
    • Please continue to check this page for any updates related to summer camps
  • BUILDING RENTALS
    • We are NOT currently renting the facility for birthday parties, community meetings, or large gatherings
