High School Girls Retreat
It’s girl time for all our 9th-12th grade students!
Cost is $15 and includes all meals and activities. All you need to bring: some comfy and church clothes, air mattress, sleeping bag, pillow, games, and a Bible. Plans are to meet at the Sports & Rec LOFT at 6:00 pm on Saturday to begin our fun overnight activities. The following day, we will attend the 8:45 am service together and then 9:45 Sunday School. Parents can pick up at 11 am (or earlier if needed). Friends are always welcome & invited!
Welcome to Bishop’s Rally 2019. This is the largest gathering of 5th – 7th grade students in the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church each year. Christ UMC of Plano is excited to be the host church again this year. The afternoon will be packed with a large group gathering, worship, an address from the Bishop, and, of course, plenty of games and activities. Reserve your spots for youth and adults. Once a church has registered, we will send you a welcome packet and invoice via e-mail. The cost is $5 per person.

Let’s meet at Whirlyball (3115 Parker Road) at 11:00 am. After we’ve finished a delicious lunch at Country Burger, we’ll dominate on the Whirlyball court. We’ll finish at 1:00 pm and will dismiss from Whirlyball. This is a free event with no registration necessary, just grab some friends and join us for a fun guys day!

Join us for an afternoon of Disc Golf and lunch. We’ll meet at Shawnee Park (3300 Sherwood Dr) at 11:00 am to play a round of Disc Golf (we’ll have extra discs if you don’t own any). After we’ve played, we’ll eat lunch together at the park – food will be provided. We’ll finish up the event at 1:00 pm – all guys 6th-12th grade are invited to join us!
Get excited for our 2019 High School Spring Break Mission Trip! We will serve in Philadelphia on this urban mission trip during March 10-16th.
Payments are due in five installments of $160 (registration deposit, November 30, December 31, January 31 and February 15).

Most Sunday evenings throughout the Spring semester, our 6th-12th grade students are invited to join us for Sunday Night Youth!
We will meet at 5:00 pm in the Sports & Rec Center where we will play games, worship together and spend time in small group discussions. Every Sunday Night Youth will end with a $3 Snack Supper. Parent pick-up is at 7:00 pm.

12th Grade Students & Parents
Our Seniors and their parents are invited to join us during the 9:45 a.m. Sunday school hour for a four-part series to gain some insightful knowledge that will help ease the college transition. Registration is not required, and there is no cost to attend. Breakfast and coffee will be served. We hope to see you in the Sports & Rec Loft (2nd floor) on the dates below.
Feb 17: Time Management (Bill Baxley, guest speaker)
Practical guides to help in balancing your time; considering short-term and long-term goals; developing systems to evaluate which things are worthy of your time; prioritizing; and discovering how to make the most of the time you have!
March 24: The Riveting World of Finances (TBA, guest speaker)
You’ll find out practical suggestions for handling financial matters and budgeting while away from home; understanding the seriousness of debt and the length of time required to pay off debt; compounding interest rates on loans and credit cards; and how to make spending a spiritual matter.
April 14: Legal Matters (Nick Nicholas, guest speaker)
Discussions focusing on the legal responsibilities of being 18 (an adult); considering the responsibility of binding contracts such as (apartments, fraternity house, etc.); and learning what it means to be “guilty by association”, long-term consequences for poor choices, and more.
May 5: Mental Health (Laurie Kendig, Amanda Kendig, guest speaker)
Presentation will cover common mental health issues in college and young adulthood. Students will learn how to recognize when you or someone you know is experiencing stress, anxiety or depression, healthy coping skills to use and where to get help if you need it. Will also cover proactive steps parents can take to support your teen.

Christ United Youth host a number of grade-level small groups. In these small groups, we create a safe space for conversation and faith discovery. Our small groups are open to all students and are often hosted in the homes of our students. If you are interested in a grade-level small group not listed below, please contact us.

2nd & 4th Sunday of every month: We meet for lunch at Jason’s Deli after Sunday School (around 11:00am). Parents are also invited!
11th Grade Co-ed Small Group
All Juniors are invited to join us at 7:30pm in the 11th grade Sunday School class of the Sports & Rec Center.
12th Grade Co-ed Small Group
We’ll meet throughout the semester at the Spratlens’ (5737 River Rock Ln, Plano) for discussion and prayer from 7:00-8:00pm.

The Youth Staff looks forward to having lunch with our juniors and seniors on Mondays. When we meet at the church, please bring your own lunch. When we meet off-campus, you can bring your lunch or purchase your lunch at the meeting site.
